What kind of shower door do I need? (Back to top)
We sell many different types of shower doors, bifold, inswing, sliding and pivot, plus a range of quadrant shower enclosures, they all operate and open differently and the one you will need depends on your space provisions and of course personal preference.
Bifold doors are designed to accommodate difficult and unusual room dimensions where space is at a premium. Fabricated to fold completely inside, eradicating those jolly annoying drips on your brand new floor and providing a luxuriously large opening.
The door is reversible, just flip it upside down and it opens in the other direction! Permitting you to construct it as a mirror image to the pictures, offering limitless erection possibilities.
The exclusively constructed mechanism is carefully crafted to ensure the inwardly folding hinged door glides back with ease using the hooked slider, revealing a spacious entrance. The door features all important safety clips that prevent the folds of the door banging together and inconveniently shattering. Once inside you have complete peace of mind as the door is securely watertight with the aid of high performance discreet seals, keeping you wet and your bathroom dry. The threshold rails are rounded to prevent lacerations as you traverse.
Bifold doors are available in 760mm, 800mm and 900mm
Sliding doors offer incredible luxury whilst being a space saving feature, they offer no projection – which means no drips on the shag pile!
The exclusively constructed mechanism is carefully crafted to ensure the door glides back with ease using the glass filled nylon wheels, featuring sealed for life bearings within a die cast metal twin roller truck assembly. Once inside you have complete peace of mind as the door is securely watertight with the aid of high performance discreet seals, keeping you wet and your bathroom dry! All sliding doors are universal, you can flip them round and they'll slide the other way.
Sliding doors are available in 1000mm, 1100mm, 1200mm and 1400mm.
In-Swinging doors are reversible (can be erected to open in either direction) and excellent for bathrooms where space is at a premium, when opened the door sits happily half inside and half outside the enclosure. The exclusively constructed triple roller assemblies mechanism is carefully crafted to ensure the door glides back with ease, a spacious entrance greets you, once inside you have complete peace of mind as the door remains watertight with the aid of discreet seals, guaranteeing to keep you wet and the rest of your bathroom dry – just how we like it!

Pivot doors are a definite luxurious door option, offering you a huge space to shimmy in and out of and a whopping 8mm thick glass. The door operates on two sturdy pivot pins, finished by chrome cover caps. The door features a magnetic door seal at a 45 degree angle to ensure the water can't sneak through! There is even a sloped seal on the bottom of the door to encourage the water to drain into the tray and not onto your floor!
Quadrant enclosures are the perfect feature for any corner in your bathroom and they have all the benefits of sliding shower doors and are available in many size combinations to solve any bathroom planning dilemma. They are available in either single or double sliding door models and also in a pivot door option.
Quads are available in 800mm x 800mm, 900mm x 900mm, 1000mm x 1000mm with offset quads in 900mm x 800mm, 1000mm x 800mm, 1200mm x 800mm and 1200mm x 900mm. All have left and right hand options.
All of our lovely doors are finished to the same exceptionally high standard and we think you'll be smitten whichever door you choose.
How do I work out if I want a right hand or left hand shower enclosure? (Back to top)
Our luscious offset quadrants come in right and left hand models, to determine if you need a left or a right handed shower enclosure, you need to look directly into the corner where the shower enclosure is going to be fitted. If, as you look at it, you want the longest side in on your right then you need a right handed shower enclosure. Of course if you want the longest side on the left then you would need a left handed shower enclosure.
If you're finding this left/right business confusing give us a ring on 0845 1300 565 or drop us an email and we'll talk you through it.
Do you have a side panel that will fit any of the doors? (Back to top)
Yes, we stock a myriad of side panels that are universal and compatible with all our doors, they come in 760mm, 800mm, 900mm, 1000mm, 1100mm*, 1200mm, we've even got side panels with shelves, give us a call and we'll help you build your unique shower enclosure.
*Not available with shelves.
Can I purchase a shower enclosure without a tray? (Back to top)
Any of our enclosures can be purchased without a tray, we are very flexible here at Primrose and we want you to be happy. If you don't want the tray, or side panel or if you just want a size you can't see on the website, give us a call and we'll do everything we can to find something to fit your bill.
What is a waste trap and why do I need one? (Back to top)
A waste trap is a mini 'U' bend designed especially for a shower, it fits beneath the waste hole in your new shower tray, it allows the water to drain off, keeping a small reservoir to stop the nasty smells creeping back up into your new enclosure. The waste trap will also catch all the horrible debris that would block up your pipes! You know who you are you hairy beasts! An attractive chrome dome covers the removable reservoir, which is super easy to clean and replace.
Do the shower trays come with a waste? (Back to top)
Some of our trays are supplied with a waste, if so it will be clearly stated in the descriptions. We have a bevy of wastes to suit various tray styles we sell, we can pop one onto your order for a little extra cost.
How do I calculate the bar of my water pressure? (Back to top)
If you are unsure of how pressurised your water is or how to calculate the bar, use the following formula;
Measure the vertical distance in metres between the bottom of the cold water storage tank and the water outlet (your tap or shower). This figure is the water pressure in a measurement known as 'head' (m). Divide the head by ten (10) to calculate the bar.
i.e Our water tank is 15 metres from our shower, giving us 15 head. 15 divided by ten is 1.5, this means we have 1.5 bar water pressure. Bully for us!
What shower valve is most suitable for me? (Back to top)
Here's a bit of helpful info to assist you in selecting your shower; your hot water will be at high pressure if you have one of the following;
1). A pressurised system, where mains cold water directly supplies all cold taps and also travels direct to the hot water cylinder, keeping it at high pressure.
2). A combination boiler, which is fed by the mains and heats hot water as you use it.
3). A gravity fed system with a pump added to increase water pressure to more than 1.0 bar.
If you have an unpumped gravity-fed system, where the cold water tank is less than 10 metres above the tap, you should use a low pressure tap or shower. You could add a pump to your system to boost the pressure, which will increase your choice of tap/shower considerably.
Single lever 'mixer' taps require high water pressure, while two separate taps and taps with two handles to control the water flow can function with low pressure.
Why do I need to supply a telephone number? (Back to top)
We are a bubbly bunch here and we pride ourselves on the customer service we provide. We only use your number if there is a problem with your order and pass it onto the courier to ensure they can contact you in case of a problem concerning delivery. We do not use if for any other purpose.
When will I receive my item? (Back to top)
Most items are eligible for next day delivery, this is dependent on your location and could incur an extra charge, otherwise we operate a standard service between 2-5 working days. For more complete information please do see our delivery page.
Why do I have to pay a surcharge? (Back to top)
Our chosen courier company can charge extra to deliver to certain areas, unfortunately this means that we must pass this cost onto you. Can I combine delivery? (Back to top)
If you a lucky enough to live in a serene place surrounded by outstanding natural beauty your order could incur a surcharge, it is our policy not to combine delivery surcharges if you want more than one item, however, no matter how many items you order we will only ever charge you a maximum of two surcharges.

What is the position of the waste hole on the shower trays? (Back to top)
